SCAPEWELLŽ Egress Windows
Midwest Reconstruction Company uses SCAPEWELLŽ safety egress window components from BilcoŽ Manufacturing to provide customers with increased and improved living space.
Standard window wells block the flow of incoming light and can leave basements dark and uninviting. With SCAPEWELLŽ, window wells become code-compliant safety escape routes and the basement area is opened up for additional living space. Not only will you increase the value of your home, but you'll get added selling features and more saleable square footage. Best of all, the SCAPEWELLŽ window well system is a cost-efficient alternative to other window well methods.
SCAPEWELLŽ is made of high density , blow molded polyethylene, the same durable material used for stadium seating and truck bed liners. It is filled with rigid setting, closed cell polyurethane foam for added strength and rigidity. It is termite proof and will never rust, dent, rot or chip like existing systems made from corrugated metal, wood or concrete. The attractive sandstone color is integral to the material, and UV stabilization further enhances long life.
SCAPEWELLŽ is much safer than corrugated metal wells because of its built-in terraced exit. While aesthetically pleasing, the terraced steps are more importantly designed to provide emergency egress.
Our trained and experienced technicians use a water-cooled saw and guide plate to accurately saw the access hole in the existing wall.
Removed block is broken up and the excavation is backfilled with gravel to the level of the sill.
The molded polyethylene tiered sections are easily assembled on site.
After the well is backfilled with gravel, the grade is re-established with removed soil.
Pressure treated lumber forms the header and frame for the double glazed single slide window.
After sealing, a cedar facia provides a finished look.
The finished window is ready for landscaping. This homeowner looks forward to the well lit increased living space and the perfect hothouse for starting next years tomatoes.
