Power Brace System

Interior Bracing is a tried and true method of stabilizing deteriorated basement block walls. Walls that have horizontal cracks are usually buckling due to the hydraulic forces of freezing and thawing of the surrounding earth. Strengthening the wall with steel columns is an economical method of stabilizing the wall. We use the Power Brace System because of its unique features that allow adustment of the beam loading.

A Solid Foundation Solution

We have the experience and ability to help you chose the right solution to your basement problems. Since we have several options when it comes to restoring and reinforcing your basement walls, we have several methods to choose from. Our 15 years of experience insures that you will get the best solution.

Wall Shear

A common problem that occurs with a block wall foundation is a phenomenon known as wall shear. That is, a separation occurs along the top of the first coarse of block and the entire wall creeps inward. By properly anchoring a vertical beam further shearing is prevented. The PowerBrace system uses a specially designed floor bracket to bolt the vertical beam to the existing floor, eliminating the mess involved in the removal and replacement of concrete.

Wall Implosion

The soils in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin cause tremendous stresses on basement walls. High moisture content in the earth causes expansion and contraction of the soil surrounding your basement walls. Several cycles of hard winters and wet spring weather can eventually cause implosion of the basement wall. Interior braces transfer this pressure to the concrete floor and the floor joists of the dwelling above.
